Who We Are

Every great story begins with a promise — and at Saint Mary–Elias International School for Girls (SMEIS), that promise began in 2015.
Born from more than 50 years of educational experience, SMEIS was established with a clear and passionate vision: to create a school that raises confident, compassionate, and disciplined young women — equipped with the knowledge, leadership, and values to impact their world.
From its first academic year in 2015–2016, SMEIS committed to a standard of excellence that goes beyond academics. Our founders believed that true education is not just about what students learn, but how they grow. Every curriculum was designed to be inclusive, dynamic, and responsive — constantly evolving through research, innovation, and a deep understanding of how girls learn best.
We promised families a school where learning is rigorous yet joyful, disciplined yet caring — a place where every girl is seen, supported, and inspired to become her best self.

A Journey of Growth and Excellence
In 2016, SMEIS took its first official step on the path of international recognition by earning accreditation from the American International Accreditation Association of Schools and Colleges (AIAASC). This milestone affirmed our commitment to continuous improvement, professional development, and quality education guided by global standards.
Our pursuit of excellence, however, did not stop there. In 2023, SMEIS proudly achieved full accreditation from Cognia — one of the world’s most respected authorities in educational quality.
This accreditation, valid through 2029, recognizes that SMEIS meets the rigorous performance standards set by the Cognia Global Commission, which oversees more than 30,000 schools and districts worldwide. It is both a symbol of honor and a responsibility — one that reflects our unwavering dedication to academic excellence, effective leadership, and holistic student support.
Through Cognia’s accreditation, SMEIS is recognized by:

• The Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC)
